Hate to be a party-pooper, but I did remember seeing an article somewhere about this.

After googling it up, here’s where I read it:

But then again, like what Thewallochi mentioned, nothing should stop Capcom from releasing the game as is.

Just give me network play and I’m happy already.

Also, retain the training/dip switches(is that what you call it?) options from the PS2 version.

This is definitely cool..how i miss bonus stages. whats funny is they completely did not mention Street Fighter Ex’s bonus stage. Maybe it was from Akira and not Capcom they don’t bother mentioning it.

Good point actually.

I believe the Samurai Showdown series introduced a lot of innovations as well, such as parries(just defend?), rolls, critical hits (?), weapon disarms/breaking and the Rage system.

I suppose VF is the first 3D fighting game, so that probably is the main evolution point for 3D fighting games. But yeah, Tekken did bring 3D fighting games to the next level as well. Especially the PS1 version; I played that to death actually haha.

yeap, its not the graphics or the gameplay that matters the most. Its the evolution of ideas implemented to the fighting games so Fighting games nowadays can bring us unique gameplays, skills, abilities, super bars, parry systems, counter, rages, taunt with abilities, and the latest Focus Attack dash cancel that add spices to the games.

Ehh… IMO, I think maybe a few more games that deserve to be on this list:

1. Arcana Heart
2. Guilty Gear
3. Bleach DS (2nd)

But nice article anyway; shows the evolution of games as time progressed.
